In the shooting world, there are many disciplines and variables. To allow you to improve your particular shooting skills, the Autopuller is offered in several models. By purchasing only what you need, you not only save money, but also can pull your own targets with routines not available anywhere else.
All of our standard models are voice activated with the provision to pull for a companion.
There are presently 3 categories of controllers:
The Basic andAdvanced models were designed to simply release a target.
The Deluxe, Custom and Elite models have pre-programmed routines you select at the time of purchase to match your shooting needs
.
The third category contains Specialty Controllers (with new products in the works).
Most models come in both wired and wireless versions.
[For on-line ordering through Paypal continue on to the Autopuller page after viewing the general info]
There are five models: Basic, Advanced, Deluxe, Custom and Elite.
Basic- Simple singles and doubles, no adjustments. Immediate release. Advanced- Singles and Doubles but has an adjustable Voice Delay. Allows a delay between your call and the target release. Deluxe- Singles and Doubles as well as two routines that you select from our list. Custom- Singles and Doubles and three routines from our list or design a routine that you want to shoot. Elite - Singles and Doubles and six routines that can create up to 30 different combinations for you to shoot.
For each model there are three versions of the Autopuller:
T is for a single machine, Trap (wired or wireless)
S for double machines, Skeet (wired or wireless) [can also be used to trap]
SC for Sporting Clays -- same as skeet but 6' cord (wired only) [can also be used for skeet or trap]
All models are designed to release a target on your voice command, along with having the ability to release a target for a companion shooter.

Call and Shoot
If all you want is to release a target (singles or doubles) at the sound of your call, the Basic (APB) model is what you want. It has no frills, just a simple release.
The next model up, Advanced (APA), allows you to delay the launch of the singles or doubles. This is the like the Basic model with an adjustable delay between your call and the target release. (You can choose between the Voice Delay and International Delay).
The Deluxe (APD)is an Autopuller that will release singles and doubles with the addition of two routines of your choosing! This allows you to "design" your Autopuller for your type of shooting. Below is the detailed explanation of the routines available. You can select the two that work best for you on the Deluxe page.
The Custom (APC) model gives you more flexibility with the combinations of routines as well as the greater adjustibility of the routines themselves and it has one extra feature, a programmable automatic cancel of routine. The standard cancel time is 30 seconds. This is designed to prevent false targets and is a form of a safety feature in case you accidentally press one of the arming buttons. If a target is not called for during this 30-second time, the arming is canceled. The custom model lets you set this time to 30 seconds, 60 seconds, or infinite. You decide how you want your unit to reset.
The Elite (APE) gives you the ability to have it all. You get six routines that can be combined for up to 30 combinations.
The Routines
Pull Cord– this function bypasses the voice command totally. Pull Cord is the same as your existing pull head, press a arming button and the corresponding target is released. Press the smaller manual button and the double is thrown. (This routine is often chosen by instructors who need to switch between calling their own targets, and pulling for their students.)
Voice delay – adjustable by you. This adds a delay between your call and the target launch. The delay is preset to approximately .5 seconds from when you call for the target and when the target is released. By pressing a certain combination of the arming buttons, you can change the delay to fit your needs.
International delay – this adds a random delay between your call and the target release. The standard delay ranges from 0-3 seconds, however this can be adjusted to a smaller range (i.e. 0-1 second). The range can be reduced to no delay.
Time delay – Turns off the microphone and launches a target after the time that you preset.
Following pair – for when you want two targets from the same house. You select the house to use. At the sound of your call, a target is released. Since the machine needs time to recycle, the APD pauses for up to 2 seconds (you can make the adjustment needed), then releases your target on the report of your gun. If your first target was shot in less than the recycle time the Autopuller will hold the release and launch the second after the recycle time is completed.
Report Pair – for this function you select the house you want to release at the sound of your call. At the report of your gun, the opposite house releases a target. The second target may be delayed for up to 1 1/2 second to allow you time to acquire the target (you can set the delay between the sound of your gun and the second launch).
Random – the APD has two arming buttons on the top, one for high/left and one for low/right. The random mode scrambles the buttons. You may receive a high, low, or double at your call.
Rearm – this mode automatically rearms the Autopuller several seconds after your shot (you can adjust this time). Keep in mind that your unit will always be armed and waiting for a call. You may have to adjust the microphone sensitivity to minimize false targets. (This routine is designed for trap, and on a Deluxe unit for skeet will only rearm the low house. If you wish to rearm the high house and doubles you must order this routine on a Custom or Elite Autopuller.)
Flurry - (Only available on the Custom or Elite and must be a phone order) Tell us how many targets you would like in your Flurry (up to 50). The Autopuller will randomly pull an equall amount of singles and doubles.
(The Skeet Sequence is no longer available.)
CONNECTING TO YOUR MACHINE
Both the wired and wireless will have to be connected to your machines. This means you have to disconnect your existing pull cord, and connect either a long cord for the wired models or the adapter cord for the wireless models. We do not supply the connector for your machine. You are responsible for obtaining the correct connector and connecting it to the new cord. We do have a supply of two of the common styles, so you may save some time by investigating what your machine is presently using, then make a single purchase for everything you need. We do not recommend using a standard household type connector on our units. If someone other than yourself were to use your puller, they may inadvertently plug the unit into an outlet and cause a failure.
Wiring instructions are in the manual and on the Technical page of this website.
Systems
Both the wired and wireless systems use the same Autopuller. The only difference is the wired has either a 2-foot or 6-foot cord attached, where the wireless has a transmitter built in. Except for the connector, everything you need is included in the purchase price.
WIRED AUTOPULLERS
All wired Autopullers use your existing pull cord. You will need to either remove the pushbutton head from your cord and install connectors on the cord and the original head or supply a new cord. Some shooters have opted to use an external grade extension cord in place of modifying the original cord.
The only items you will need to purchase extra is a connector to match your machine and a connector on the end of the Autopuller and one on the extension cord. Since there is a variety of connectors you will need to identify the correct connector to your machine, purchase it and attach it.
The wired system contains the Autopuller, and all necessary-supporting components. Since you will be supplying the long cord to your machine, the skeet model comes with an attached two-foot cord. You’re responsible for attaching a connector to both the Autopuller and your cord. The sporting clay model is equipped with a 6-foot cord. You only have to attach you connector, and your ready to walk the course.

Each wired Autopuller system includes:
Autopuller (Size: 2 3/4" x 4 1/2")
microphone with lapel clip
soft carry pouch (color may vary from picture)
9-volt alkaline battery
carabiner belt clip
manual
WIRELESS AUTOPULLERS
The wireless system consists of the Autopuller with transmitter installed, the receiver and all necessary supporting components.
The biggest change in this system is the receiver, which was designed to make your shoot as trouble free as possible. The front panel contains 4 lights that inform you of the status of your unit. A power on indicator, a data light indicating a signal, and high and low lights to let you know which target machine is being activated. Inside the battery compartment, there are switches that allow you to set the auto off (30 minutes, 60 minutes or never), and to adjust the machine signal. By adjusting this signal, you can control all electric machines, including foot switch operated models. Two fuses protect both the receiver and your machine, in case a mistake is made during wiring.
If you place your receiver where there is power available and would like to use that instead of the 9-volt battery, an external power option is also available (see the options page).
In some cases the layout of a field may require the receiver to be placed in a house, which diminshes the range for the receiver. If this is the case you may want to consider an external antenna, which will allow you to place the antenna inside the house and mount the antenna up to 6 feet away (See Receiver Options page). If you already have a Wireless Autopuller and would like to retro fit your receiver for this option, you will need to send your receiver back to us for a retrofit.
The receiver is available in two configurations. The standard supplied receiver has one 3 wire outlet and was designed to be connected in place of the standard skeet pull cord. If you have two separate trap machines, and want to keep them electrically isolated, we now offer a receiver that has 2 outlets. (There is no extra charge for substituting the 2-outlet receiver, just let us know when ordering on the phone, or leave a message if ordering online). Each machine has its own outlet, which keeps both machines separate.
Both the 1-outlet and 2-outlet receivers will work with a single trap machine.
If you would like the 2-outlet receiver, please note that in the appropriate space on the order form. The standard 1-outlet receiver will be shipped if no notice is given.
The Wireless model is not currently available for purchase outside of the United States and Canada. We hope to have a frequency available for International Purchase by Spring 2009. If you would like to be on our mailing list for and International Frequency Wireless system please fill out the form at the top of this page.
